Dear Neighbor,

Thank you to everyone who attended the District 9 Celebrate Cambrian Festival at the Camden Community Center last weekend.  The festival, now in its 10th year, was another extraordinary success and brought together almost 1,500 people from District 9 and the San Jose community.

The weather was perfect, and there was something for everyone to enjoy.  Children jumped in bounce houses, raced through obstacle courses, played soccer and tennis, posed in the photo booth, and made arts and crafts.  Neighbors visited the community resource fair and gathered valuable information and resources from close to 40 different non-profit organizations, local businesses, and government agencies.

School of Rock, Zumba, and martial arts demonstrations took center stage at the event.  Families also enjoyed the delicious food from our local vendors, and sweet treats from the frozen dessert truck.  My staff and our volunteers had fun meeting neighbors while handing out cold water, fresh fruit, and t-shirts.  Even our favorite San Jose mascots, Q and Sharkie from the Earthquakes and Sharks, came to join the fun.

I’d like to thank the Camden Community Center and its dedicated staff, City departments including PRNS and Public Works, and my District 9 team for bringing this event to life.  I’m also grateful for the tremendous support from our community sponsors and our generous donors, Grocery Outlet and Green Team.  Most importantly, thank you to those who attended the festival to celebrate all that makes District 9 such a wonderful place to live.

If you didn’t have the chance to experience Celebrate Cambrian for yourself, check out the recap below please be sure to join us next year!

Sincerely,

Don Rocha

**ATTENTION: San José City Hall and other City offices will close for the Labor Day Holiday and reopen on Tuesday, September 8. The Police and Fire Departments, along with other critical City services, will remain unaffected by the closure.**
