Little League Division II Tournament


Cambrian Park Little League cordially invites you cheer on our district's Little League teams at Little League International’s California Divisional Round Major All Star games.


Date: Saturday, July 19th to Friday, July 25th


Location: Cambrian Park Little League fields  3001 Ross Avenue, San Jose, CA  95124

CPLL's district was chosen as the host district from among 31 Northern California Little League districts. Furthermore, of the 11 teams, CPLL was chosen as the specific site.  It's quite an honor and our whole community of players, volunteers, and families are very excited.

The 7 teams which will compete in the tournament will be the winners of the 7 sections in Northern California, which represents more than 360 leagues. The winner of this divisional tournament will be headed to San Bernardino for a chance to play in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA.

San José Public Library and Earthquakes Team Up for Summer Reading Challenge
 The San Jose Earthquakes Team to lead Storytime readings throughout community

Essay contest will award student winner with VIP experience

San José Public Library and the San Jose Earthquakes, one of the leading Major League Soccer teams, have joined forces for the City's Summer Reading Challenge. 

Over the next three weeks, the Library will host fan-favorite Earthquakes players during children's Storytimes at branch locations throughout San Jose.  At each location, a team member will do lively reading of one of his favorite children's books and help rally the audience around reading and learning throughout the summer.  

Earthquakes Storytimes:

Tues., July 15 at  6:00 pm, Biblioteca Latinoamericana Branch, 921 S 1st St.

Wed., July 16 at 3:15pm, Joyce Ellington Branch, 491 E Empire St.

Thurs., July 24 at 4:00pm, Educational Park Branch, 1772 Educational Park Dr.

Sat., July 26 at 3:00pm,  Hillview Branch, 1600 Hopkins Dr.

In addition, soccer enthusiasts between the ages of 7-18 have the opportunity to win a VIP Experience with the Earthquakes by taking part in the Summer Reading Challenge Essay Contest. The Library is inviting students to submit a 250-word essay sharing how they can stay healthy and active over the summer.  The Earthquakes will then select and contact one winner who will receive a VIP Experience, including a behind- the-scenes tour with the Earthquakes players, admission to a team practice and participation in a team meet-and-greet.  The winner will have the choice to attend the Sat., August 16 or Sat., August 30 game at Buck Shaw Stadium.  To enter, students may submit their essays online,, or drop off their submission at a library branch by Thurs., July 31.

Job Openings for School Crossing Guards in our District

School Crossing Guards work part-time during the normal school year. Duties include providing for the safe passage of elementary and junior high school children across heavily traveled streets. There is substantial variation between positions in terms of the number of work hours per week. Positions may involve substituting at different locations or a regular location assignment. Generally, these assignments are approximately 10 hours per week, 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon. School Crossing Guards are required to work outdoors regardless of weather conditions. Uniforms are required to be worn by all Crossing Guards

Hispanic Heritage Foundation Offers Educational Grants 

The Hispanic Heritage Foundation offers educational grants  in several categories to qualified Hispanic/Latino high school rising seniors. Recipients are eligible to receive an educational grant ranging from $1,000 to $3,000. Students are also eligible to be selected as a national recipient and receive a laptop computer and an all expense paid trip to attend the National Youth Awards ceremony! Child Advocates of Silicon Valley

 Open House Volunteer Recruitment Event to learn about becoming a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)

Child Advocates of Silicon Valley recruits, trains and supports volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) to work one on one with foster children, providing critical emotional and educational support, ensuring that each child’s needs are met and their voice heard while navigating the court dependency system.
Becoming a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) in Santa Clara County is a truly gratifying and impactful volunteer experience.  Children who have a CASA receive more services (medical, dental, academic etc.) and are less likely to reenter the system than those who do not have a CASA.

Music in the Park's 26th Season

At 2:00pm, learn more about pop art with Jason Adkins, adjunct faculty member at Gavilan College, Gilroy, California, as he leads a gallery talk.

North East County Open House - Updates on Local VTA Projects

VTA is hosting two Open Houses to update the public on current transportation projects in North East Santa Clara County. The event offers an opportunity for members of the public to directly discuss with key project staff the latest information regarding the following VTA projects:

North Central County Bus Improvement Plan
Light Rail Efficiency Project
